Battling Moussa Dembele will reportedly stay at Lyon and fight for his starting spot next season - putting Celtic's sell-on windfall at risk.
Dembele impressed in Ligue 1 despite a poor campaign for his club, with Lyon finishing the season in eighth and well adrift of the Champions League and Europa League spots.
The striker netted 22 goals with Tottenham and Fenerbahce named among potential suitors.
This summer appeared to be the right time for the 25-year-old to move on from the club, with Alexandre Lacazette arriving from Arsenal.
However, L'Equipe report the Frenchman has no intention of leaving Lyon this summer.
Dembele reportedly sees Lacazette as much a partner in attack rather than a successor as the man striker in the side. .
The problem from Lyon's perspective now is that Dembele is entering the final year on his contract and they run the risk of losing the frontman for free.
That could also spark a domino effect at Celtic, who agreed a 15 per cent sell on clause when Dembele left Parkhead for France in 2018 for £19.7million.
If no deal is agreed this summer, a pre-contract deal could be penned from January, meaning that no additional boost will arrive for Ange Postecoglou 's transfer kitty.
