"Though not exactly in the middle of nowhere, the island of Ireland is on the westernmost edge of Europe and is pretty isolated out there in the North Atlantic Ocean. One of the island's most remote and beautiful places is the Mourne Mountains in County Down in Northern Ireland. Here you can enjoy walks filled with peace and solitude through enchanted woodland and scenic mountain paths that wind down through valleys carpeted with fragrant wildflowers."
The destinations named on the list 'were ranked on several factors including but not limited to':
- Remoteness
- Number of inhabitants
- Unspoiled beauty
- Uniqueness
Blue Eye, Albania came in at number 1 on the list, with Marble Caves, Patagonia, Chile at 10.
