A mountain road has turned into a waterfall as torrential rain batters Wales. The Bwlch Mountain road is partially closed following a blocket culvert which resulted in rocks and heavy rainwater rushing over the mountain.
It is understood to have occurred before 7am this morning and some early commuters were able to pass by before the road was shut off. One video shows water rolling off the mountain onto the road in a waterfall effect.
Rocks and debris can be seen strewn across the highway as a truck is parked up nearby with hazard lights on, with the driver describing the road as "crazy". Drivers can get to the Rhondda from Bridgend through Gilfach Goch.
A Bridgend County Borough Council Spokesperson said: “The A4061 Bwlch mountain road currently has a lane closure in place due to a blocked culvert which has caused some stones and mud to spread across the carriageway. Council workers are on site to deal with the blockage and clear debris, and have set up temporary traffic lights to assist with the works. We would like to make it clear to residents that this incident was not caused by a landslide.”

Rhondda Cynon Taf council has urged people to only drive if "absolutely necessary" due to hazardous driving conditions and surface water across the borough. The road between the Heritage Park Hotel, Porth, and Travis Perkins in Hopkinstown is closed as a result of flooding. Waunrhydd road in Tonyrefail is also closed due to flooding, according to South Wales Police.
The M48 Severn Bridge is currently closed in both directions due to strong winds and motorists are advised to use the Prince of Wales bridge instead. Trains between Pontypridd and Treherbert are either cancelled or delayed this morning due to flooding on the line at Llwynypia.
Trains between Pontypridd and Treherbert are also affected due to flooding on the line in Pontypridd, with commuters told to avoid travelling on these services this morning. The lines in Abercynon and Aberdare are also flooded. Network Rail are en route but due to a road closure in Pontypridd due to flooding it is proving difficult. Replacement road transport is being sourced however due to local roads flooding, road transport may be delayed or unable to reach stations.
