We are now approaching the middle of the two-week international break. Yes, there's another week without club football...
It's safe to say Chelsea have had a turbulent season so far. Graham Potter recently replaced Thomas Tuchel, who was dismissed from his role with the owners having a different plan for the future. It's now up to Potter to try and turn the Blues' season around while also attempting to implement his style on his new players.
So far in the Premier League, Chelsea have won three matches (vs Everton, Leicester City and West Ham United), drawn one (vs Tottenham) and lost two (vs Leeds United and Southampton). The Blues currently sit seventh in the Premier League table.

Now, following Chelsea's slow start, football.london has decided to do something we wouldn't usually do at this point of the season – rate each player of the squad for their campaign so far. To do this, we have determined the average rating of each player who has featured in three or more games. For example, this rules out new signing Wesley Fofana, who has featured just once for Chelsea in the league.
Edouard Mendy
It's not been an ideal start to the season for the Chelsea goalkeeper. Mistakes against Leeds United and, arguably, Southampton, has saw him face plenty of criticism. 5.8.
Kalidou Koulibaly
Back-to-back brilliant performances against Everton and Tottenham saw Koulibaly start off in the perfect fashion for Chelsea. However, he was sent off in the 3-0 defeat at Leeds which brings his average rating down a lot. Overall, though, it's been an impressive start. 6.
Thiago Silva
Consistently one of Chelsea's best performers – like he has been ever since joining the club in 2020. Standout games include the win at Everton and the most recent victory over West Ham. 6.5.
Ben Chilwell
It's been a difficult start to the season for the England international. After last season's serious injury, it was always going to take time to return to his best and that has proved to be the case. With the introduction of Marc Cucurella, he has been deprived of as much game time, but he still scores a fairly high rating considering four of his five appearances have come from the bench. 6.2.
Marc Cucurella
After being signed from Brighton for around £60million, there was a lot of pressure for the Spaniard to hit the ground running for Chelsea. He definitely did that, with his best performance in a Blues shirt being on his debut against Tottenham. It's been a positive start for Cucurella. 6.
Reece James
Chelsea's go-to man when it comes to attacking, which sounds insane because we're talking about a defender. It's true, though, with James continuing to perform at such a high level on a frequent basis. 6.6.
Cesar Azpilicueta
Azpilicueta has been one of Chelsea's worst performers so far this season. A mistake that led to Southampton scoring in the 2-1 defeat at St. Mary's stands out. With Fofana now signed, we will probably see less of the Spaniard as the season progresses. 5.4.
Jorginho
It was a solid opening two games of the season for the Italian but that match against Leeds at Elland Road stands out. Not only him, but he was completely overrun by an energetic Leeds side who made him look very ordinary. It was followed by a very impressive performance against Leicester, however. 5.3.
Mateo Kovacic
Just the one start for the Croatia international in the Premier League so far after missing the opening three matches of the season through injury. Two substitute cameos, where he played well means he has a very respectable rating. 6.
Conor Gallagher
Not good reading for Gallagher. A poor display at Leeds followed by a red card against Leicester the following week means he has a low rating. There's still loads of time to turn it around, though, and you wouldn't bet against the England international doing so. 4.75.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek
A 25-minute cameo against Everton on the opening day of the season has been followed by five successive starts in the Premier League. In those matches, he's really impressed and has quietly been one of Chelsea's strongest performers this season. 6.5.
Mason Mount
Mount has started every game in the Premier League so far for Chelsea but there have been calls for the England international to be dropped after some struggling displays. The 23-year-old is yet to register a goal or an assist this season. 5.1.
Kai Havertz
Like Mount, Havertz has struggled in the opening stages of the season. Plenty of big chances were missed, but he opened his account last weekend with the winning goal against West Ham at Stamford Bridge that will hopefully help him kick on and keep improving. 5.3.
Raheem Sterling
An ever-present figure in the Chelsea starting XI this season. The former Manchester City man has three goals so far for his new club and has looked promising. There's plenty more to come, though, you feel. 6.
Armando Broja and Christian Pulisic
Broja is yet to start this season for the Blues, while Pulisic has been named in the XI just once. N/A.
