Motorised floating bridge deployed to pick up villagers stranded by flooding in southern China

A motorised floating bridge has been deployed to evacuate residents stranded by flooding in Guangxi, southern China.

Heavy floods triggered by Typhoon Narra have battered Longzhou County in recent days.

Footage shows rescuers launching the “mobile pontoon bridge” into the water before using it to transport stranded residents.

The bridge can be rapidly assembled into a floating structure capable of carrying people and heavy equipment during flood-relief operations.

Rescue forces from China Anneng Group deployed the equipment to Shangjin Township on Wednesday (26 August).
