A motorcyclist with serious injuries was airlifted to hospital after a crash on the M56.
The crash happened on Wednesday shortly after 4.30pm on the westbound carriageway near the Chester Services junction. It involved two cars and a motorcycle. A woman, who was a passenger in one of the cars involved, sustained minor injuries.
The M56 was closed in both directions for around two hours as emergency services dealt with the incident, reports CheshireLive. This included an air ambulance being scrambled to the scene.

By the time all lanes had reopened there was more than seven miles of congestion. Police are now appealing for witnesses to the collision.
A Cheshire Constabulary spokeswoman said: "At 4.40pm on Wednesday, March 23, police were called to reports of a collision on the M56 between junction 12 to junction 14 involving a Kia Picanto, Vauxhall Corsa and a Suzuki motorbike. A full closure was put in place while air ambulance attended the scene.
"The rider of the motorbike, a man, was airlifted to Aintree Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. A passenger, a woman, from the Kia Picanto sustained minor injuries."
