Police have issued a fresh appeal following the tragic death of a motorcyclist who died in a horror smash with a lorry earlier this month.
The 45-year-old man who died at the scene of a country road in Lanarkshire on Monday, June 6, can now be named as John Morrison from Whitburn.
Emergency services raced to the scene on the A702 near Elsrickle but John, who was driving a Honda motorbike at the time, sadly passed away.
The driver of the articulated lorry, a 40-year-old man, did not require hospital treatment following the two-vehicle collision.
Cops are now re-appealing for information on the incident and Road Policing Officers are particularly interested in speaking with the driver of a minibus which pulled over to provide assistance at the time.
A report has been forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal since the tragedy.
Police have also extended their condolences to the family of Mr Morrison.
Sergeant Andy Currie from the Road Policing Unit at Motherwell said: “Our thoughts remain with Mr Morrison’s family and friends.
“Enquiries continue into the cause of this crash and I would again urge anyone who witnessed this crash or who has any information that may assist us to come forward.
"We are keen to speak to the driver of a minibus that stopped at the scene shortly after the crash happened and provided assistance.
"The bus was heading to Edinburgh and I would urge the driver to contact us as soon as possible as he may hold information that will assist our investigation.
“We would also ask anyone driving on the A702 in the Elsrickle area before the crash took place to contact us.”
Information can be passed through 101 quoting reference 3100 of June 6.
