Last month a delivery rider on a moped was seriously injured in a collision with a car being driven on Victoria Street, just yards from the scene of this morning's crash.
The section of Victoria Street between Counterslip and Redcliff Street has seen a decrease in traffic since the imposition of restrictions for private vehicles on Bristol Bridge, but has seen more traffic turning off down those side roads in recent months.
The crash this morning happened around 100 yards further up Victoria Street towards Bristol Bridge. A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset police said the traffic was held for a time while the injured motorcyclist was treated at the scene.
“We were called to Victoria Street, in Bristol city centre, at 8.37am today (Wednesday 29 June) following reports of a collision between a motorcycle and a car," she said. "One person has been taken to hospital, their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing. Traffic was held while emergency services attended but has since been released.”
