A motorcyclist has been rushed to hospital after falling off his bike before colliding with a van in Bury. Police were called out to reports of a crash in Tottington yesterday evening (July 31).
Emergency services raced to the scene, on Chapel Street, at around 5.30pm. Greater Manchester Police says the male motorcyclist involved had fallen from his motorbike.
Police say a van then collided with the motorcyclist, whose age has not been confirmed. He was rushed to hospital for treatment following the smash.
The motorcyclist's injuries were not life threatening, GMP says. Police closed off the road in both directions while the scene was cleared on Sunday evening, while eyewitnesses reported seeing a fuel spillage on the road.
A spokesperson for GMP said: "On Sunday (July 31 2022), at around 5.30pm officers attended an RTC on Chapel Street, Tottington where a male fell from his motorbike and a van collided with him. The male was taken to hospital to receive treatment for non-life threatening injuries."
