Motorcyclist in hospital and woman arrested after crash in Ebbw Vale which has shut main road

A woman has been arrested and a man taken to hospital after a crash in Park Road, Ebbw Vale. The collision involving a silver Vauxhall car and a motorbike happened on Thursday, December 8, at 12.10pm.

The 28-year-old woman, who was the driver of the car, has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. The 60-year-old male motorcyclist has been taken to hospital for treatment.

Emergency services were at the scene, including the Welsh Ambulance Service, Welsh Air Ambulance and the South Wales Fire and Rescue Service.

Traffic monitoring service Inrix reports that the A4046 Park Road remains closed in both directions due to the collision between The Brewers Fayre Pub and Festival Drive.

A spokesperson from Gwent Police said: "We received a report of a road traffic collision in Park Road, Ebbw Vale at around 12.10pm on Thursday, December 8. Officers attended to assist with traffic management, along with personnel from the Welsh Ambulance Service, Welsh Air Ambulance and the South Wales Fire and Rescue Service.

"The collision involved a silver Vauxhall car and a motorbike. The driver of the car, a 28-year-old woman, has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. The motorcyclist, a 60-year-old man, was taken to hospital for treatment."
