A motorcyclist was airlifted to an Edinburgh hospital on Sunday afternoon following a horror crash on M90.
The car smash involving the motorcyclist took place at 12.40pm on the M90 southbound near Halbeath in Fife.
The rider was rushed straight to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment via air ambulance from the site of the road traffic collision in Fife.
The M90 remained closed southbound between junction 4 and junction 3 following the crash with traffic queues in the area.

The condition of the individual involved is not currently unknown but has arrived at the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.
The air ambulance was spotted flying low through Craigmillar, as it approached the Edinburgh hospital at around 14:00.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 12.40pm on Sunday, 17 April police were called to a report of a road crash involving a motorbike on the M90 southbound between j 3-4 at Halbeath.
"Officers attended and the motorcyclist was taken by Air Ambulance to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh."
