A MOTORBIKE rider has been rushed to John Hunter Hospital after an accident involving a car at the Swansea roundabout.
Emergency services, including NSW Ambulance paramedics, were called to the scene at the Pacific Highway near Bowman Street about 3pm on Sunday.
A NSW Ambulance spokeswoman was unable to confirm the gender of the rider or the age of the person involved, but said they had been taken to John Hunter Hospital to undergo further medical treatment.
It is unclear at this stage what injuries the motorbike rider suffered in the crash.
It is understood northbound traffic was affected while emergency services assessed the scene.
Drivers were advised to reduce their speed and exercise caution, but it is understood the crash site has now been cleared.
According to Live Traffic NSW, the incident ended about 3.43pm.
NSW Police did not have further details on the crash when contacted by the Newcastle Herald.
