Motorbike enthusiast delighted after scooping £20,000 from 80p ticket

A Kilmarnock man was left stunned after winning a £20,000 prize in a competition.

Eddie Coyle, 42, is celebrating after winning a motorbike worth a cool five figures in luxury lifestyle competition BOTB (Best of the Best).

After paying just 80p for his ticket, the civil servant walked away with a £20,000 Triumph Rocket III R in the weekly online competition.

He found out the good news when BOTB presenter Christian Williams video-called to tell him.

“I love motorbikes,” he laughed. “I’ve got two at the moment, but neither as powerful as this.”

Eddie won the most expensive bike in the competition’s line up. Featuring the largest production motorcycle engine in the world, the bike pushes out 221Nm of torque.

“It’s so powerful,” he said. “What a nice bike!”

He added he’d played BOTB for more than two years after discovering the competition during the national lockdown.

Since being founded in 1999 by William Hindmarch, BOTB has given away more than £47 million worth of cars.

The company, listed on the stock market, hands over the keys to two cars each week as well as a ‘lifestyle’ prize. Recent winners have bagged a quad bike, a holiday to the Arctic and £15,000 in cash.

BOTB’s Christian Williams said: “The Triumph Rocket III R is an incredible prize and I’m super excited for Eddie who seems to be really into his bikes. Massive congratulations again!”
