A police man hunt has been launched to trace the occupants of a car who fled the scene after leaving a motorcyclist seriously injured in Edinburgh following a 'hit and run' crash. The 24-year-old rider was knocked down by a black Fiat motor which ended up wedged between parked cars and a hedge on Ferry Road Drive on Thursday afternoon.
Investigators say the occupants of the badly damaged motor fled the scene before emergency services arrived. Enquiries to trace them remain ongoing, Police Scotland have confirmed. The biker has been taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment.
His current condition is not known. Emergency services, including the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, remain at the scene with the road closed off to allow for a full accident investigation to take place.
Officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the horror collision or who has dash cam footage from the area.
A statement from Police Scotland said: “We were called around 1.45pm on Thursday, 28 July, to a report of crash involving a car and a motorbike in the Ferry Road Drive area of Edinburgh.
