Motherwell v Hibs XI's confirmed as both make big calls in Scottish Cup quarter-final

Motherwell and Hibs have named their XI's to take on a big Scottish Cup last eight tie at Fir Park.

The Steelmen have opted for a defensive approach of five defenders, with Nathan McGinley returning from injury while captain Stephen O'Donnell is dropped.

Dean Cornelius and Liam Donnelly command a two-man midfield while Kevin Van Veen leads the line in attack.

Hibs have been decimated by injury in recent weeks but still name a strong team with stars like Josh Doig and ex-Steelman Chris Cadden, as young striker Elias Melkersen starts his first game since joining from Bodo/Glimt.

The winner of this quarter-final will join Hearts in the Scottish Cup's last four after the Jambos beat St Mirren 4-2 on Saturday.

Motherwell XI: Kelly; Mugabi, Ojala, Solholm, Lamie, McGinley; Cornelius, Donnelly; Efford, Van Veen, Roberts.

Subs: Fox, O'Donnell, Carroll, Woolery, Shaw, Slattery, Amaluzor, Grimshaw, Tierney, Goss, Shields.

Hibs XI: Macey, Cadden, Porteous, Doig, Wright, Campbell, Newell, Stevenson, Henderson, Jasper, Melkersen.
