Motherwell star Harry Paton has returned to the club after signing a two-year deal.
The 25-year-old Canadian midfielder was Stuart Kettlewell's first signing on a short-term contract to the end of last season, and had hoped to earn a new deal.
Paton signed for Motherwell on April 1 and made his debut in a 3-1 win over Hibs at Easter Road later that same day, having been out of the game for 11 months after leaving Ross County. He made seven appearances before suffering a groin injury that ruled him out for the last two games.
Boss Stuart Kettlewell told the club's website: "Harry showed real signs of quality last season.
"Signing when he did was really difficult, as he had to get up to speed really quickly and help us get over the finish line.
"Now he has the summer to prepare physically and mentally, and I'm really looking forward to working with him again.
"He gives us real quality in the middle of the pitch and I have a really good relationship with him, personally."
Paton said: "It's great that I've been given this opportunity. I really enjoyed my short stint here last season and I'm now just focused on getting going again."
Meanwhile, Cornelius has joined English League Two side Harrogate Town on a two-year deal.
The midfielder said goodbye to the club he has supported all his life in a Tweet yesterday.
And the club today confirmed that he has turned down a new contract offer to head south.
They said: "We want to thank Dean for his efforts, and wish him well for the future."
