Motherwell skipper hopes Riku Danzaki can be the spark as he admits he is "deeply hurt" by club's miserable run of form

Riku Danzaki Liam Kelly Steelmen Premiership Dundee United St Mirren

Liam Kelly admits he is "deeply hurt" by Motherwell's miserable run in the Premiership - but hopes new boy Riku Danzaki can be the spark to take them clear of relegation trouble.

The Steelmen's skipper saw his side slump to a 1-0 defeat at St Mirren on Saturday, making it nine league games without a win.

It also left the Fir Park club joint-bottom of the table with three other sides, sitting on 20 points alongside Kilmarnock, Ross County and Dundee United.
