Motherwell have announced striker Jon Obika has joined the club on a permanent deal.
The 32-year-old has signed a one-year deal at Fir Park, following a loan spell from Morecambe last season, where he scored once in 10 appearances.
The Steelmen returned for pre-season training this morning and Obika is the club's first announcement of the summer.
Obika told the Motherwell website: “Having been here last season, I was really eager to come back again this season.
“I thrive when I work in a professional environment and feel that’s when I can get the best out of me.
"This club has high standards in abundance and I’m fully committed for the campaign ahead.
“There is a real feel-good factor at the club and I’m looking forward to trying to create a successful season together.”
Obika missed a chunk of last season's Premiership campiagn with a hamstring injury and boss Stuart Kettlewell is delighted to be working with him again.
He said: “Jon has impressed me with his attitude and application since I arrived.
“He picked up a hamstring injury when we played Ross County in Dingwall. He picked the knock up in the first few minutes of the game but continued to fight and help the team towards a massive win on the road.
“That’s the type of character he is and I’m delighted we can keep him at the club.”
