Dutch club Groningen have confirmed an interest in Motherwell striker Kevin van Veen.
The 32-year-old has hit headlines all season after banging in 29 goals in all competitions for the Fir Park club.
That set a new Premiership and club record of 11 goals in consecutive matches for an on-form striker who still has a year left on his contract.
Groningen were relegated from the Eredivisie this season and will play in the second tier.
Chief scout and director Wouter Gudde revealed he has been to Scotland and hope for a deal to be done.
He said at a fans' meeting: "I was recently in Scotland and in an ideal world we will sign two strikers and 10 new players overall.
"But the striker position is the most important to us.
"It's important we have many options for our new manager Dick Lukkien, when he starts pre-season on July 1."
Motherwell boss Stuart Kettlewell has previously stated that it would take a "life-changing" deal to prise their star striker from the club.
