Motherwell have sealed the stunning return of Fir Park hero Louis Moult after leaving fans sweating on the signing overnight.
The 30-year-old striker has joined on a season-long loan from English League One club Burton Albion.
The deal was expected to be announced in the early hours after the Steelmen made an 11th hour swoop to bring Moult home.
But the club had a lengthy wait to get the loan move ratified.
But he is now back in claret and amber and could make his debut in tomorrow's Premiership clash with Dundee United.
Moult had a prolific three-year spell in ML1 between 2015-2018 and became a huge fan favourite after guiding the team to two cup finals in the 2017/18 season.
He memorably scored a double as the Steelmen knocked Rangers out of the 2017 League Cup semi-finals in a 2-0 win at Hampden.
And the Fir Park faithful will be hoping he can deliver the goods on his Scottish Premiership comeback in a formidable frontline with in-form Dutchman Kevin van Veen.
Boss Steven Hammell told the club media: "To get Louis on board is a major coup.
“I played alongside Louis and I am fully aware of what he is capable of and what he will bring to this team.
“I’m excited to see what he has to offer this season.”
