A Motherwell childminder has been hailed by her daughter for going above and beyond the call of duty.
Lorraine McKinley has been a childminder in the town for over two decades making her a well-kent face to many.
But despite that Lorraine has always found time for Leanne and her two siblings as well as her grandchildren.
Leanne said: “My mum’s a well known childminder in Motherwell but goes above and beyond when it comes to her job.
“She worked all through the pandemic and works six full days a week yet never moans or complains.
"She is always there for everyone especially her 3 daughters and grandkids and can’t do enough for the children and parents when it comes to her work.
“It’s not just a job to her which she has done for 20 odd years, they are family to her.
“She treats them like her own and really does go out her way to make sure everyone else is happy and has everything they need.
“She is one in a million and we love her very much.”
To thank Lorraine for everything she has done for Leanne and her family, we were able to offer her a beautiful bouquet of flowers, arranged thanks to our friends at Pixie’s Petals in Newmains.
Leanne added: “It’s so funny that because she has been doing childminding for so long there’s adults who call her ‘gran Lorraine’.
“We were only young when she started so we know so many people due to mum.
“It must be stressful looking after so many kids but she takes everything look easy and takes everything in her stride.
“She has had a lot on her plate over the last few weeks so I’m hoping this will cheer her up.”
