Motherwell manager Graham Alexander reckons Ross Tierney will take plenty of confidence from his first goal in claret and amber against St Mirren.
Alex Gogic's header nine minutes from time looked to have sealed a Premiership win for the Buddies but Tierney struck in stoppage time to claim a point during the 1-1 draw.
It keeps Motherwell fourth in the league, despite not winning any of their games post-winter break.
Attacking midfielder Tierney arrived at Fir Park from League of Ireland side Bohemian on a long-term deal in the winter window, and Alexander reckons he'll only get better.
He said: "We know he's got the intelligence to pick up good positions and it was a great finish right in front of our fans, who were magnificent.
"Even when we went 1-0 down they were still with us and brought us towards that goal. There isn't much to him and there's a lot of growth to his body as he puts in on the line.
"He goes in where the big men are and he's not afraid of that. He takes a buffering now and then. He's a great character. He gives us an attacking threat and he's something different.
"Their goalkeeper made some fantastic saves but I am pleased he wasn't able to get to that one. Ross has taken his time to get involved because of the transfer but we know his intelligence."
Alexander reckons a point was the least his side deserved from a hard-fought encounter against St Mirren: "It would have been a travesty if we lost that game.
"We dominated St Mirren and had numerous chances and double their attempts on goal and on target. To find ourselves 1-0 down with 10 minutes to go was a painful one.
"The players showed brilliant commitment and courage and went to the end and deservedly got at least an equaliser. The players got half their rewards, I thought they deserved to win the game."
