Motherwell and Scotland legend James McFadden has been left made up for Allan Campbell after his national team call-up.
An injury to Rangers' Ryan Jack has opened up a spot in the national team's midfield ahead of five matches in June, with head coach Steve Clarke selecting the Fir Park academy product to fill the void.
Campbell joins former Fir Park teammates David Turnbull and Stephen O'Donnell in the squad, while 'Well vice-captain Liam Kelly is also included.
Luton Town signed the 24-year-old last summer after over 150 appearances in claret and amber, enjoying a standout season as the Hatters reached Championship play-off territory.
McFadden had taken on coaching duties while Campbell was emerging onto the scene in North Lanarkshire and he is thrilled to see him involved this month.
Scotland face Ukraine on Wednesday in a World Cup play-off final, with Wales potentially awaiting on Sunday in the final before a selection of Nations League matches.
He told Sportsound: "He is a player, even from a young age, who had the best attitude of any player I've ever seen. It's incredible.
"He takes no days off. He isn't a drinker. He's obsessed with his fitness and being ready, so he will be ready (for matches in June).
"I am delighted for him because of the amount of work he has put in to get here. He deserves it. Hopefully he gets a chance.
"I'm sure Steve Clarke will be impressed by his application and he's a brilliant player as well. He didn't get the credit he deserved at times with Motherwell. He's brave on the ball."
