Mother who thought she couldn't have children has has four in 14 months

A woman who once thought she would never be able to have babies following an illness has had two sets of twins just over a year apart.

Shauna Hughes was diagnosed with endometriosis in 2019, and assumed she would never be able to have children of her own. But amazingly she became pregnant just a year later, and was overjoyed – doubly so when she learned it would be twins.

Tragically, the expectant mum miscarried, further fuelling her fears that she would never be able to conceive naturally. But then, a year after losing her babies, she fell pregnant with twins again — and this time was able to welcome Frankie and Fenton into the world. The identical twins were born in October 2021.
