Mother Rushes To High School During School Shooting Scare

Police, emergency services at scene of hostage situation in Netherlands

Erin Clark was at work on Wednesday morning when she received a series of distressing text messages from her son, who was attending class at Apalachee High School. The messages indicated a school shooting was taking place, causing immediate concern and fear.

Clark quickly responded to her son's messages, expressing her love and reassurance before leaving work to rush to the high school. Upon arrival, she, along with other parents, faced restrictions on driving to the school and had to park on a different street and walk to the scene.

Upon reaching the school, parents were directed to gather at the football field to reunite with their children. Clark recounted the harrowing experience of finding her son safe near the bleachers, relieved that he was unharmed.

According to Clark, her son, a senior at the school, had heard multiple gunshots before taking action to secure his classroom by barricading the door with a classmate. The ordeal left both mother and son shaken, with Clark admitting to feeling 'absolutely terrified' upon receiving the initial messages and being in disbelief that such a tragic event was unfolding.
