A woman has been charged with murder following the death of her five-month-old daughter in Leeds.
Hayley Macfarlane, 39, of Barnsley, is set to appear in court today following the death of her daughter Evelyn. It follows an incident at Woodhouse Moor Park on Wednesday, December 20.
Emergency services were called and the child was taken to a hospital where she was declared dead.
Her mother was arrested and questioned. Police have not commented on the baby's cause of death and Detective Chief Inspector James Entwistle said inquiries were continuing "to get a complete picture".
The child's mother is set to appear at Leeds Magistrates' Court on Saturday, West Yorkshire Police said.
Mr Entwistle, who is leading the case, said: "The death of a child in these circumstances is clearly a very tragic incident and we are carrying out enquiries to get a complete picture of what has occurred.
"We would like to hear from anyone who was in the park around this time and who witnessed anything or who has any information that could assist the investigation."
