Most unusual and surprising Queen tributes - from Crazy Frog to Anne Summers

Ever since the Queen's death on Thursday, many popular brands have been paying tribute to the nation's longest reigning monarch. Many touching messages of condolence and incredible previously unheard stories have emerged in an outpouring of love for Her Majesty.

Deciding what to write is a very unique and unprecedented dilemma. Many organisations have dediced to close down, cancel events or make drastic changes - with people are asking whether this is what Her Majesty would have wanted. Here is a look at some of the most unusual tributes that have been made to the Queen.

Crazy Frog

One of the most astonishing tributes came from a CGI-animated amphibian.

Crazy Frog was one of the very first people to pay their respects to the Queen on social media.

This led to a lot of confused people - and some even discovered the sad news that Her Majesty had died from the Swedish cartoon character.

"R.I.P. The Queen," tweeted Crazy Frog, along with a candle.

In response, one person said: "Imagine finding out the queen is dead from a crazy frog tweet."

"Admit it. You tweeted this so people would be mad they found out from Crazy Frog," another added.

A third replied: "A very touching tribute. Thanks crazy frog xx"

Greggs

The nation's favourite pastry provider paid their respects to the late monarch on Thursday - and posted a snap with her in the famous blue of their brand.

They tweeted: "An inspiration for more than seven decades, we're sorry to hear of the passing of Her Majesty The Queen. Thank you, Ma'am."

Many people in the comments wanted to know if Greggs will be doing a special commemorative product in honour of Her Majesty.

One Twitter user said: "Please do a memorial sausage roll."

"This is why Greggs is the best food shop in the country," added another.

Thomas Cook

Thomas Cook posted a sweet photo of the Queen - but their caption caused a stir.

"Safe travels, Ma'am," they posted along with a yellow heart, which is part of their branding.

People were quick to point out the obvious awkwardness of the travel group wishing the Queen "safe travels".

One person wrote: "No no no no no no no"

"Yeah… don’t think Thomas Cook quite thought this one through," added another.

Playmobil

Playmobil UK paid their respects to the Queen with a poignant tweet.

With a black heart emoji, they tweeted: "Rest in Peace Queen Elizabeth II 1926-2022"

This was accompanied by a black and white photo of a Playmobil figurine of Her Majesty with a Union Jack in the background.

A few people then challenged Lego to "top that" - and they certainly did try to do that.

Legoland Windsor

Legoland posted an adorable snap of a tiny Lego Queen wearing a crown.

They wrote: "We are extremely saddened to hear of the passing of HM Queen Elizabeth II. Our thoughts are with all the Royal Family at this deeply sad time.

"Out of respect the Resort will be closed tomorrow. If you're due to visit you will receive an email about your booking."

But there were a lot of angry replies as thrill-seekers were fuming they couldn't go to the theme park, which is close to Windsor Castle.

Anne Summers

Lingerie and sex toy giant Anne Summers posted a nice message after the Queen's death.

They tweeted: "Thank you Ma'am, for everything - for women, for family, for our nation. Sleep well."

However, the British retailer had a bit of a blunder on their website as there was an advert immediately underneath selling their adult products.

British Kebab Awards

Perhaps the most unusual tribute of all came from the British Kebab Awards.

Rather than make jokes about the Queen's favourite kebab, they actually put out a lovely messages.

It said: "It is with great sadness that we acknowledge Her Majesty the Queen's passing. For 70 years, she stewarded us through our darkest and brightest days. Thank you Your Majesty. RIP"

"I can’t believe this is how I find ou," wrote on stunned Twitter user in the replies.

Another added: "Oh god if the kebab awards are posting it then it must be true. Gonna get a Donner tonight in her honour"

Domino's

The pizza chain changed from their usual colours of red, white and blue to a sombre black for their tribute.

"Everyone at Domino's joins the nation and the world in mourning the death of Queen Elizabeth II. Our thoughts and condolences are with the Royal Family."

They turned off the replies to the tweet, which probably says it all.

Shrek's Adventure!

The Queen got a nice message of support from the big green ogre.

The people who run Shrek's Adventure!, which is an interactive walkthrough experience next to the London Eye, sent out a tweet after her death.

They tweeted: "Shrek's Adventure! London joins millions of mourners around the UK and the world in paying tribute to HM Queen Elizabeth II.

"United in our loss – we give thanks for a life of extraordinary service to this country, the Commonwealth and the wider world."

A few people pointed out that Shrek was probably against the monarchy, as he turned down the chance of being King and defeated Lord Farquaad.

The venue will be shut on the day of the Queen's funeral so guests and staff can pay their respects.

Hamilton

The organisers behind the West End production of Hamilton sent out a sweet message.

"Everyone at Hamilton is deeply saddened by the passing of Her Majesty The Queen and we offer our sincere condolences to the Royal Family.

"We join together with the people of the United Kingdom and around the world in mourning her loss."

People pointed out that Hamilton is all about someone who wanted indepence from the monarchy.

One person replied: "You can’t be serious lol"

"Um… sorry to mention but," added another.

A third asked: "Have you guys seen your own musical?"

CrossFit UK

Rather than going for the classic tribute, global fitness brand CrossFit UK decided to pay their respects by posting a Queen-themed workout.

The popular exercise brand said it would be "fitting" to re-upload the training plan they had initially built to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee.

First up for the 'cash in' was 70 jumping lunges to represent the number of years Her Majesty was on the throne.

Other rounds of exercise were based on her age at her coronation, the date she was crowned and how old she was when she died.

There was even a "one minute rest in silence" in the middle of the routine.

One Instagram user in the comments claimed it was "unhinged stuff", while another said it was "disrespectful" to the Queen.

Met Office

The Met Officehave decided that sending too many announcements about the weather would not be appropriate at this time.

The day after the Queen's death, they explained they would be limiting social media posts to weather forecasts and warnings only.

They tweeted: "We are saddened by the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Our thoughts are with her family and all those affected by this news.

"As a mark of respect during this time of national mourning we will only be posting daily forecasts and warnings."

The strange decision prompted a strong backlash online - with many people questioning whether it really is 'respectful'.

In a subsequent tweet, the Met Office confirmed they were not posting any 'non-operational' content.

They added: "It is right at this sad time to pause other non-operational content that isn’t a forecast or warning, to ensure the public can focus on any potential impactful weather during this period. Apologies for any confusion."
