Inside a new Amazon warehouse just off the M57, staff are getting ready for their busiest time of the year.
As the first of its kind in Merseyside, the fulfilment centre on Marl Road in Knowsley, has delivered tens of thousands of parcels a day since it opened its doors this September. But with Black Friday and Christmas just around the corner, this demand is soon expected to double and staff will be offered overtime to ensure everything runs smoothly.
The ECHO was invited for a behind the scenes tour of the warehouse this week as it gears up for its busiest period. Spread out over five floors, the 636,000 sq. ft. fulfilment centre is the same size of ten football pitches.
