Most of California's border with Mexico will be turned into a militarized zone to further expand security operations and aid the Trump administration's immigration crackdown.
Border Report noted that the area will extend from the Arizona state line to the Otay Mountain Wilderness, going through the Imperial Valley and several border communities. The area will be transferred to the Navy to reinforce "the historic role public lands have played in safeguarding national sovereignty."
