Israeli intelligence service Mossad's head, David Barnea, recently returned to Israel after a meeting in Doha with CIA Director Bill Burns and Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, as confirmed by the Israeli Prime Minister’s office (PMO) on Monday.
The discussions in Doha primarily focused on a potential new framework for a Gaza ceasefire-hostage release agreement. This proposed outline is said to combine elements from previous suggestions while addressing key issues and recent developments in the region, according to the PMO statement.
Future negotiations are scheduled to occur in the upcoming days between mediators and Hamas. The primary objective of these talks will be to assess the practicality of formal discussions and to continue efforts towards reaching an agreement, as highlighted in the PMO's announcement.
A diplomat familiar with the situation revealed to CNN that the terms of the potential deal are not yet finalized and have not been formally presented to Hamas for consideration.
