A gunman who injured two girls in a shooting in Moss Side is still at large one week on from the horror incident.
Police were called to Quinney Crescent shortly before 10.30pm on Friday evening (July 29) following reports of a drive-by shooting outside a house.
Enquiries found that an unknown assailant had discharged a shotgun at a large gathering of people outside the property before driving off. Two girls were reported injured during the incident. A 16-year-old girl was rushed to hospital but thankfully was not seriously hurt.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident and have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
Earlier in the week, Superintendent Chris Downey said: “Since Friday night, detectives have been working as quickly as possible to track down the offender, however, we are yet to make an arrest. This is where I want to appeal to the Moss Side community to please get in touch if you know anything at all that could help us with our investigation.
“Moss Side has come so far in the last few years with residents, police and partner agencies working together to make the area a safe place for everyone. Thankfully, incidents such as this are rare now in Moss Side and I’d like to reassure residents that we are doing all we can to bring the offender to justice.
“This reckless and dangerous behaviour amounting to attempted murder, will not be tolerated in our local communities where people have the basic right to feel safe”.
A week on from the incident, Moss Side’s Neighbourhoods Policing Team have confirmed they are providing extra reassurance to residents in the area with an increased police presence.
Constable Scott Schofield, who is a familiar face in the area, has been working within the Neighbourhood Policing Teams to patrol the area. He said: “We want our presence to be a comforting one to those who live in the area and are worried about the shooting that occurred on Friday.
“Our aim is to engage with as many people as possible, to reassure them that we are doing everything we can to trace the offender(s). We are also here for anyone who wants to talk to us, in confidence.”
