Moses Itauma slapped by rival at heavyweight title fight weigh-in

  • Moses Itauma and Filip Hrgovic were involved in a heated altercation at Friday's weigh-in ahead of their clash for the vacant IBF heavyweight belt at London's O2 Arena on Saturday.
  • The physical altercation began when 21-year-old Briton Itauma pushed his 34-year-old Croatian opponent off the stage while Hrgovic flexed in front of spectators.
  • Hrgovic responded by returning to the stage and slapping Itauma before officials intervened to separate the two heavyweight boxers.
  • Itauma admitted he lost his composure during the face-off, while promoter Frank Warren noted the young boxer was attempting to stamp his authority before entering the ring.
  • Unbeaten Itauma comes into the contest following a stoppage of Jermaine Franklin in March, whereas Hrgovic has bounced back from his sole defeat to Daniel Dubois with three straight victories.
