Morrisons, Spar and Waitrose recall fish, chocolate spread and milk

Morrisons, Spar and Waitrose are recalling a number of products over safety fears.

Shoppers are being urged to return the items as soon as possible for a full refund. Product recalls are made by traders about products that have problems that could affect the safety of the consumer.

Along with allergy fears, items have also been recalled due to contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. The product should not be used and should be returned to the trader.

These are the items that have been recalled in the past week:

Morrisons

Alpro UK Limited is recalling part of a batch of Alpro Rice Drink because it contains oats (gluten), which is not mentioned on the label. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to oats or gluten.

Waitrose

Waitrose is recalling Waitrose British Hot Smoked Rainbow Trout Fillets because Listeria monocytogenes has been found in the product.

Symptoms caused by Listeria monocytogenes can be similar to flu and include high temperature, muscle ache or pain, chills, feeling or being sick, and diarrhoea. However, in rare cases, the infection can be more severe, causing serious complications, such as meningitis.

Spar is recalling Spar Spread Up Hazelnut Choco 400 g because it contains almonds (nuts) which is not mentioned on the label. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to almonds (nuts).
