Morrisons announces price cuts across 130 items to help with cost of living

Morrisons has announced that it will be slashing hundreds of prices across its entry-level products to help families stretch their budget during the cost of living crisis.

The supermarket giant has said that it will cut 130 prices across its Savers range, including fresh and frozen products, cupboard essentials and household products.

As reported by HullLive, Morrisons has invested £16 million to make the cuts in a move that aims to support families as the cost of living continues to impact budgets.

The price cuts will cover a range of food products to help out families during meal times, with prices reduced across fresh products such as bacon, cooked chicken and cheese.

A range of fruit and vegetables including apples, pears and potatoes will also have their prices reduced.

Frozen ready meals, fish fingers and prawns have been cut along with cupboard fillers like tins of beans, chopped tomatoes and tuna chunks.

Shoppers will also find that household products are included in the price reductions, with savings across laundry powder, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, toothbrushes, toothpaste and sanitary products.

David Potts, Chief Executive, Morrisons, said: “Our Savers range offers customers great value on the products they buy every day. We want to do all we can to help when it comes to the cost of grocery shopping and by investing in the range and cutting the prices further, our customers will see a noticeable impact on their budgets at a time when they really need it.”

The latest Morrisons price cuts campaign will be advertised via TV, radio, press, digital display and social media as well as email and online activity.

Shoppers will also be able to find the Savers range highlighted on the Morrisons website homepage under the "More Ways To Save Section."

Until January 22, Morrisons seasonal aisle will will feature displays of the Savers products in one place to help customers shop the breadth of the range, while the fresh and frozen items will have prominent displays in their aisles to help customers identify them.

It is the latest round of price cuts to be announced by the supermarket chain after it reduced the cost of 150 popular products back in September last year.

The latest price cuts will be available in all of Morrisons 498 supermarkets and the majority of products can be found online.
