Morrisons, Aldi, Tesco and Asda issue urgent recall warning on chocolate and pizza

An urgent recall has been issued on chocolates, yoghurts and pizzas sold at major supermarkets including Tesco, Aldi and Sainsbury's due to safety fears.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) said some of these products have been contaminated with salmonella, while others include ingredients not mentioned on the label.

The authority says this could be particularly dangerous if the shopper has an allergy to ingredients left off the label, such as egg.

Anyone who has bought the following products, including Yoplait Frubes and pizza doughs, in the past week should return them to the appropriate supermarket.

Common symptoms of salmonella include fever, diarrhoea, and abdominal cramps, Liverpool Echo reports. It can even be fatal, as was the case for a mum of one, from Dublin, Ireland, after she ate cooked cold turkey at a party.

Aldi

Aldi is recalling Moser Roth The Collection Milk, White and Dark Chocolates because they contain egg which is not mentioned on the label.

Aldi's Moser Roth The Collection is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to egg.

Aldi is recalling the above product from customers and have been advised to contact the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall.

The company has also issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers.

These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product.

If you have bought the above product and have an allergy or intolerance to egg do not eat it.

Instead, return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.

Yoplait Frubes

Yoplait UK is recalling Yoplait Frubes Strawberry, Red Berry and Peach Variety Pack because the product may contain small pieces of metal.

Small metal pieces have been found in the peach flavour within the multipack which makes this product unsafe to eat.

Only products with a ‘C’ after the ‘use-by’ date are affected, displayed as ‘09 Feb C’ on the packaging.

The company said: "At Yoplait, we always put consumers first, and so we are issuing a precautionary recall of a small number of Frubes Strawberry, Red Berry & Peach Variety Packs 9x37g, due to the potential presence of small metal pieces in the peach flavour.

"If you have this product, with a use by date of 09.02.2022, and it was purchased from the Co-op or a local convenience store, please return it to the store where it was bought for a full refund. No other Yoplait or Frubes products are affected by this recall."

Tesco, Morrisons, Asda, Sainsbury's, Waitrose, Aldi

BakeAway is recalling several raw pastry products because salmonella has been found in the products.
