A supermarket customer claimed his shopping trip was like running an “obstacle course” thanks to the detritus left strewn in the aisles.
The man said unpacked boxes of goods were left across the shop floor, making it difficult for him to reach his groceries as planned.
The fuming customer took photos on two separate visits to the Morrisons store in Coalville, Leicestershire.
Describing the boxes as hazards, he claimed numerous boxes and pallets were left out in the aisles, Leicestershire Live reported.
Another unhappy shopper added: “ When I went early once a few months ago you couldn’t get past any of the pallets and if you could get past a pallet you had to clear plastic wrap.
“I totally understand they need to replenish the shelves and I completely get this time of the year is very busy (I used to work in retail myself) however if the store is open to the public I feel they should make sure customers can actually get round the store safely without having to move all the rubbish out the way first.”
However another dismissed the claim, adding: “They'd soon complain if there was nothing on the shelves.
“Some people just like to moan.”
In response, a Morrisons spokesperson said: "The store team are all working really hard to keep the shelves stocked in the run-up to Christmas."
Earlier this month a couple in their eighties married after a real-life 'meet cute' when they ran into each other in a supermarket and traded numbers after crashing their trollies.
Wendy Hazell, 80, a former antique dealer, was single for 32 years before bumping into Paul Hazell, 83, who owned a furniture business, at a Sainsbury's in Matlock, Derbyshire, on December 27, 2021.
Two-time widower Paul recognised Wendy after seeing her eating alone at the restaurant at Audley St Elphin's Park, the retirement village where they both lived, and soon they were planning dinner together the next evening.
After a whirlwind romance they were engaged in March, just three months after meeting, and were married on Wendy's 80th birthday in September, before moving in together shortly afterward.
Wendy said: "I wasn't looking for love and had been very happily single for over 30 years when I met Paul.
"But I knew from early on that we were right for each other, we had instant chemistry."
