Morpeth will launch its first ever Restaurant Week following the success of similar events in Newcastle, Durham and Sunderland.
More than 20 restaurants, cafes and venues from Northumberland's county town will take part in the town's Restaurant Week which takes place between March 20 and 26. Those taking part include Barluga, Pleased to Meet You, The Black Bull, Longsands Après, Café Des Amis, The Sun Inn, Micah's Tea Room, and many more.
It is hoped that special deals across these eateries will not only raise awareness of the variety of food and drink venues the town has to offer, but also to give Morpeth a boost in footfall. Locally, Restaurant Week has been a success in Newcastle, Sunderland and Durham, with many restaurants fully booked during the return of Newcastle Restaurant Week in January.

In addition to dining out throughout the day, diners can find a selection of three course offers around the town. All diners need to do is quote "Restaurant Week" upon booking.
Molly Thompson, organiser of Restaurant Week, said: "We hope restaurant week will allow Morpeth’s finest eateries to show what they can do and bring in new customers from the area and beyond. Morpeth really is a town of culinary talent and we cannot wait to hear the feedback from diners.
"This is More in Morpeth’s first event within the town and we hope to announce further projects within the coming months."
Imogen Roth, owner of The Market Place, said: "As a business from right in the heart of the town, we’re delighted to welcome the very first Morpeth Restaurant Week. Since opening up in this location last Summer the business has gone from strength-to-strength and we cannot wait to see even more new customers visit our eco-store and café."
Florin Stan, General Manager at Townhouse Morpeth said: "Morpeth has so many fantastic eateries for visitors to sink their teeth into and we can’t wait to get involved with our brilliant offer here at The Townhouse. We hope everyone comes to try out all of the brilliant deals the town’s businesses have throughout the week, you could practically eat somewhere different for lunch and dinner every day!"
Morpeth Restaurant Week runs from March 20 - 26 and is organised by membership organisation More in Morpeth, a joint venture funded by Sanderson Arcade, Rutherford & Co, the Chamber of Trade, Morpeth Town Council and Sharp Media Group.
