Dozens of Morocco fans took to the streets of Cardiff city centre last night to celebrate their team's historic win over Portugal in the World Cup quarter finals. Videos shared on social media show fans letting off blue and red smoke flares and cheering and chanting in celebration after Morocco secured their spot in the semi-finals.
As well as dancing atop the Welsh bucket hat in the city centre, many Morocco fans met outside Casablanca Moroccan & Lebanese Cuisine restaurant on City Road to celebrate the historic win - this is the first time any country in Africa has ever made a football World Cup semi-final.
Understandably, proud fans couldn't contain their excitement and were seen singing, dancing and waving flags in celebration. In one video, which has been viewed more than 7,000 times on Twitter, crowds can be seen spilling into the road as they chant, dance and wave their flags, whilst car horns can be heard beeping in response - though it's not clear whether this was in frustration at the fans or in support of them. Sharing the video, trainee journalist Sam Edwards said: "Absolute scenes on City Road after that huge Morocco win."
