Morning DART services run at reduced capacity due to graffiti of trains

Vandals sprayed graffiti on a DART train overnight, causing some morning services to run at reduced capacity.

Early this morning, Irish Rail announced that some key services would be running at reduced capacity due to vandalism. Shorter trains are used today while the graffiti-covered carriage is being cleaned.

A spokesman for Irish Rail told Dublin Live: “There was some graffiti vandalism to a train overnight – we endeavour to remove such trains from service to clean and remove as quickly as possible, so as a result two return trips by DART were shorter trains this morning.”

The services affected were 06:50 Malahide - Greystones, 06:52 Connolly - Malahide, 07:30 Malahide - Bray, and 08:24 Greystones - Howth. The spokesman also said that there weren’t any congestion issues on board this morning however, as they are expecting lower demand this week since it’s mid-term.
