Lorient defender Moritz Jenz is on his way to Celtic this summer as Ange Postecoglou looks to add depth to his centre-back options, according to reports in France.
The Aussie boss appears to be on the look-out for back-up to Cameron Carter-Vickers and Carl Starfelt this summer, with Stephen Welsh and out of favour Christopher Jullien the only alternatives to the first-choice central defensive pairing of Cameron Carter-Vickers and Carl Starfelt. Jullien has also been heavily linked with an exit from the club, despite his move to Schalke collapsing, meaning Postecoglou will need extra bodies for his backline.
The boss is set to be granted an addition this summer with L'Equipe reporting that Jenz is set to finalise a deal with the Scottish Premiership champions from the Ligue 1 side. Celtic were among the interested suitors in the 23-year-old last summer when the centre-back was with Lausanne-Sport but he opted to take up his opportunity in France.
The German defender has struggled to make his mark since joining Lorient and new boss Régis Le Bris is reportedly keen to offload Jenz. The report notes that while the player is a move it is unclear at this stage if it will be a permanent deal or a loan agreement.
