PATIALA: The cremation of Morinda sacrilege accused who died under mysterious circumstances at Mansa civil hospital on Monday night while in judicial custody took place on Wednesday late evening at Bir ji cremation ground in Patiala.
As the matter turned sensitive following the social boycott appeal of deceased's funeral made by Jathedar Takht Kesgarh Sahib on Tuesday and the demand of Gurdwara Kotwali Sahib committee to not allow cremation in Morinda, the health officials and administration in Patiala remained tight lipped till evening over the cremation of deceased Jasvir Singh. However, later in the evening the officials disclosed that cremation has taken place.
Earlier, the officials claimed that none from the deceased’s family had reached the mortuary to claim his body for cremation.
