Hideki Matsuyama took the lead at The Sentry tournament in Kapalua, Hawaii, after a stellar second round performance. Matsuyama shot an impressive 8-under 65, making seven birdies in a 10-hole stretch to finish at 16-under 130, holding a one-shot lead going into the weekend.
Collin Morikawa, trailing Matsuyama by seven shots early in the second round, made a strong comeback with a 65 of his own. Morikawa's five straight birdies late in the round put him in contention, just one shot behind Matsuyama.
