Switzerland's Morgane Metraux has surged into the lead in the women's golf competition with a stellar performance in the second round. The 27-year-old golfer from Lausanne displayed exceptional skill, recording four birdies and two eagles on the front nine, propelling her up the leaderboard. Despite a slightly more inconsistent back nine with three bogeys and a birdie, Metraux managed to card an impressive six-under-par 66, finishing her second round at eight-under and holding the lead.
Metraux's lead, however, is a narrow one, with the chasing pack hot on her heels. World No. 1 Nelly Korda and China's Yin Ruoning have made late surges in their second round, both sitting at six-under with three holes remaining. Starting the day at level par, Korda and Yin are now just two shots behind Metraux, setting the stage for an exciting finish to the competition.
