Michael Beale has all but ruled out Morgan Whittaker joining Rangers in January, admitting it's his belief that the winger stay at Swansea, but admits they are getting closer to securing Nicolas Raskin from Standard Liege.
Reports in Belgium claimed the Ibrox side had practically completed their move for Raskin and while Beale says that is premature, he says they have made progress. The Light Blues gaffer was speaking ahead of Wednesday’s trip to Tynecastle where they face in-form Hearts, with fans anxious for news of signings. There is still work to be done to get Raskin secured, with Stuttgart also keen on the player. Swansea City’s Morgan Whittaker is another Beale is keen to sign but the manager said, ‘he will be staying at Swansea I believe’.
And on the Belgian Under-21 international he added: "There's loads of interest in him and has a lot of options, I believe. He's someone who can connect the midfielders and forwards. He's technically very good and could play as a No. 6 or a No. 8. He would be a good signing for someone. It's an eye-catching one because of his age and the fact his contract is running down. He's very well thought of in the Belgian national team set-up. I can't confirm anything right now. We're closer but it's not guaranteed right this second."
“Once the window shuts the coaching takes place and I am looking forward to that. We always have a different targets for every position - I am really pleased with the targets from our recruitment team. We are all aligned across the club.”
