Morgan Gibbs-White sends 'proud' Nottingham Forest message after completing Wolves transfer

Morgan Gibbs-White says he is "proud" to have signed for Nottingham Forest and cannot wait to play at the City Ground.

Gibbs-White has joined Forest from Wolverhampton Wanderers in a club record transfer deal. It is understood that the Reds have paid a fee of £25million, which could rise to more than £40m with add-ons.

The 22-year-old attacking midfielder will wear the number 10 shirt for Steve Cooper's side, who face Everton at Goodison Park this weekend. It is reported that the Toffees failed in a late bid to hijack the Gibbs-White deal.

Gibbs-White has previously played under Cooper during a loan spell at Swansea City and with England Under-17s. He spent last season on loan at Sheffield United, where he scored 12 goals and provided 10 assists in 37 appearances for the Blades.

The England Under-21 international penned an emotional farewell message to Wolves, having been at the club since the age of eight. Now he has also posted a message to Forest fans as he prepares for a new challenge with the Reds.

Posting on Instagram, he said: "So proud to join @officialnffc! Can’t wait to play in front of the fans at the City Ground! Let’s go!"

Meanwhile, Forest put out a brief video clip of Gibbs-White at the City Ground, in which he also addressed the supporters.

"Hi Reds fans," he said. "It's Morgan Gibbs-White here. I'm delighted to be here, now finally it's happened. I can't wait to see you guys soon."
