It has not been a good two weeks for former Rams players who left Los Angeles in the last few years. Several of them have already been cut this offseason in what are cap-saving moves.
The most recent ex-Ram to get released is Morgan Fox, who was waived by the Panthers on Monday – the first day of the legal tampering period. Fox just signed a two-year deal with the Panthers last offseason after leaving the Rams.
The Rams should consider a reunion with Fox, especially if Sebastian Joseph-Day signs with another team in free agency. Fox was a valuable rotational pass rusher for the Rams and could help at defensive end behind A’Shawn Robinson.
Here are some of the other former Rams players who have been cut this offseason, too.
- Cory Littleton, Raiders
- Rodger Saffold, Titans
- Dante Fowler Jr., Falcons
- Greg Zuerlein, Cowboys
With the exception of Zuerlein, the other four players would all make sense for a potential reunion with the Rams. Los Angeles could use linebacker help, and Littleton exceled there while with the Rams. Saffold would help fill the void if Austin Corbett leaves in free agency, and Fowler’s most productive season in the NFL was in 2019 with the Rams.
There have been no reports of the Rams showing interest in any of those free agents, but don’t be surprised if that changes, depending on how free agency goes for L.A.
