Cruz Azul are 'still interested' in signing Rangers ace Alfredo Morelos, according to reports in Mexico.
The Liga MX side were linked with the Colombian striker back in late 2018 amid speculation that ex-Gers boss Pedro Caixinha - then at the helm of Cruz Azul - was lining up a move to lure Morelos away from Ibrox.
It was while Caixinha was in charge at Ibrox that he brought the Morelos to the club from HJK Helsinki in July of 2017 for a reported fee of £1m, prior to the Portuguese boss receiving his marching orders months later.
Now in the wake of the 26-year-old's goal scoring return to Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side in their 2-0 victory over Ibrox yesterday to e put five-and-a-half months of injury frustration behind him, reports have once again linked Morelos with a move to Mexico.

Cruz Azul boss Diego Aguirre could be eyeing up a move for Morelos to replace striker Santiago Giménez, who joined Dutch side Feyenoord last week for a reported €4 million, El Futbolero Mexico reports.
About the Rangers forward, they wrote: "The name of the Colombian player Alfredo Morelos, who played with Rangers in Scotland, and was managed by an old acquaintance of La Máquina in Pedro Caixinha, has rung out once again online, and the cafetalero has just scored on his return to the Scottish team after not playing since April due to thigh surgery, reviving the idea that there is still interest as there was in 2019 for the 26-year-old."
It comes after Celtic and Liverpool legend Sir Kenny Dalglish said he believes Morelos' return from injury is a major boost for Rangers ahead of their European date with destiny.
The Ibrox side take on Belgian club Union-Saint Gilloise in Champions League third round qualifying action on Tuesday night, one week on from a tough 2-0 first leg loss away from home. They need to overturn a major deficit and have been buoyed in doing so by their Colombian talisman returning.
