- A survey by Sport England's This Girl Can campaign has revealed that 55 per cent of British women feel unsafe exercising outdoors alone after dark .
- It also found that 69 per cent had concerns over sexual harassment and intimidation during dark hours, up from 60 per cent in 2023.
- More than two-thirds of surveyed women believe rising online misogyny has contributed to feeling less safe, with 52 per cent fearing being followed.
- As daylight hours decrease, 34 per cent of women plan to change their exercise routines, and women are more than three times more likely than men to stop outdoor exercise entirely.
- The findings coincide with the return of the Let's Lift the Curfew campaign, which calls for safer public spaces and community exercise support.
