A lovable Staffordshire bull terrier has been in rescue for more than a year, but still hasn’t found a family who will take him on. Oscar , a more senior dog, is looking for a cosy sofa where he can live out his golden years.
The nine-year-old pooch has been with Manchester Dogs’ Home for 394 days this Sunday, September 4, and the team hope the Staffy will be able to find a home soon.
Don’t be fooled by his age - like many Staffies, Oscar loves walkies and toys, followed by a snuggle on the sofa and a belly rub or two.

He’s looking for a family who will take him out on lots of exciting adventures and will buy him lots of squeaky balls, because they’re his favourite.
A spokesperson for Manchester Dogs’ Home said: “Oscar’s new owner will need to be strong as he does initially pull on the lead but will settle half way through his walk.
“As he can sometimes be a little nervous, he will need a family with older children. With this in mind, he may need a few meetings with potential owners to gain his trust.”
Other dogs still looking for a home, despite appeals for families to come forward, include British bulldog cross Scar , who needed not one, but two surgeries ahead of his adoption, and is now recovering well.
Beautiful boy Boston also hopes to find a family, too, but hasn’t had a single appointment from potential adopters. And ex-stray Levi is also waiting on a family to call his own, after being found on the streets.
If you think you would be able to provide the home that Oscar deserves, and would love nothing more than to have him snuggled up beside you on your sofa, please apply via the website.
