Rollercoaster crash at Legoland Germany injures more than 30

More than 30 people have been injured after two rollercoasters collided at an amusment park in southern Germany on Thursday.

The incident took place at a Legoland park in Gunzburg and, according to local media reports, a total of 34 people were injured, two of them severely.

The cause of the collision is not known but a spokesperson for the park said it occurred in the station of the Fire Dragon rollercoaster.

Three helicopters were deployed to the scene, while the Bavarian Red Cross said 15 people had been transferred to a local hospital following the crash.

Last week, a woman died in a seperate incident in another amusement park in southern Germany. The 57-year-old woman fell out of the rollercoaster, in the municipality of Klotten, as it was moving.
